Interaction Tips Guide

Interaction Tips give you personalised, actionable advice for working across cultures. Select your home country and the country of the person you're interacting with, and get tailored tips for both colleague and customer/sales scenarios.

How to Use Interaction Tips

  1. Navigate to Interaction Tips from the Tools Dashboard
  2. Select your country under "I am from"
  3. Select the other person's country under "Working with someone from"
  4. Use the swap button to quickly reverse the direction
  5. Tips appear instantly in two categories: Colleague Tips and Customer Tips

Understanding the Two Categories

  • Colleague Tips — Advice for day-to-day collaboration, team meetings, feedback, and working relationships
  • Customer/Sales Tips — Guidance for client-facing interactions, negotiations, presentations, and relationship building

The Dimension Comparison Chart

Below the tips, a bar chart compares the cultural dimension scores between both countries. This helps you see why certain tips are given — larger gaps between scores indicate bigger cultural differences.

Tips for Using This Tool

  • If you're preparing for a specific meeting, read the tips 15 minutes beforehand
  • The tips are directional — "Netherlands → Japan" gives different advice than "Japan → Netherlands"
  • Use the swap button to see things from the other person's perspective
  • Each country pair has 5 colleague tips and 5 customer tips
